With its height of 115 centimetres, the emperor pen- guin (Aptenodytes forsteri) is the tallest out of the 18 existing penguin species. It is the undisputed symbol of Antarctica, where it lives by enduring extremely cold temperatures of up to -60°C. However, climate change and the presence of man are now a threat to its existen- ce and habitat.
